From the beautiful mural depicting the Canterbury Tales to our comfortable
overstuffed chairs and period antiques, this is the perfect area to relax

in San Francisco. Accommodation  Our
255 bedrooms and suites were restored to their original glory in the spring
of 1998 with special emphasis inspired by The Canterbury Tales. From wall
coverings, carpeting, and comfortable furniture to the uniquely designed
window treatments and bed coverings - every room has received our personal
touch. Jo Mora, famous artist and sculptor, originally paintedseven murals
of The Canterbury Tales for the hotel in 1934. A vignette from these murals adorns every guestroom door and additional Canterbury Tales artwork is found in each guestroom. You'll even find a copy of the Canterbury Tales book in your room. The Canterbury offers guest bedrooms with one or two double beds, one or two queen beds, or one king bed. Our suites are furnished with king beds. In addition, 80% of The Canterbury's rooms are designated non-smoking.
