| Located
in City Center on the famous Karl Johansgate, within view of the royal
palace, parliament, National theatre and within walking distance of public
transport, restaurants and shops. The guestrooms are furnished individually
with beautiful antiques and a tasteful colour scheme. All are large and
kept in good condition. Accommodation Each room at the Grand Hotel has its own special character and style. The rooms and suites facing Karl Johan all have balconies, where many famous personalities have stood and waved to the crowd outside. The hotel has a total of 500 beds in 238 rooms and 51 suites. Many celebrities have stayed at the Grand Hotel over the years, from heads of state to pop stars. With all their special desires and demands, they have helped make the hotel what it is today. The Grand Hotel has a unique atmosphere which has developed over many generations of hospitality. Hotel Facilities Meeting The rooms and salons in the Grand Hotel's banquet division are especially well-suited for larger conferences. The largest rooms, Speilen and Rococo, can be used separately or together, depending upon the size and type of arrangement. Often Speilen is used for lunch or exhibitions in connections with meetings or conferences in the Rococo Room, our largest meeting room, whick can accommodate up to 300 participants. In addition, many of the salons can be used for exhibitions or as seminar rooms. The foyer area adjacent to the large rooms has space for a hospitality desk and poster exhibitions. It is even possible to hold car shows in the banquet division's large foyer. Restaurant The Grand Hotel is a popular meeting place for both hotel guests and Oslo residents. Restaurant Julius Fritzner attracts business people as well as those who appreciate the finest food the modern Norwegian kitchen can offer. Palmen (the Palm Court) is a favorite place for ladies (and others) who lunch, and everyone goes to the Grand Cafe Each restaurant has its own unique ambience, so there's something for everyone and every occasion. |
