Established 30 years ago by the Government,
Thiripyitsaya Sakura Hotel is situated on the banks of the Ayeyarwaddy
River. In 1995, ownership and management were taken over by the Sakura
Group of Japan. Thiripyitsaya has since then undergone extensive renovation,
upgrading and expansion. Thiripyitsaya sprawls over 24 acres of landscaped gardens featuring flowering plants and tropical trees which have matured over the years. The Hotel's architecture, which has made the most of the property's western orientation toward the river, is in the Myanmar style utilizing teak and native stone as well as Bagan brick. |
