Dining & Restaurant
The Blue Door actually serves up some imaginative offerings such as the foie gras burger (duck liver with caramelized onion and ketchup on a small bun), blue crab with guacamole, jumbo shrimp with tempura leeks and pomegranate sauce, and giant ravioli stuffed with taro-root mousseline in a wild-mushroom sauce, but with the discreet rubber-necking, not to mention the high per-capita bulimia quotient, the diners tend to notice everything but the food.

The Food
Fortunately, hip people also know the Blue Door serves some of the best food in town. A menu created with famed French chef Claude Troisgras artfully melds Florida ingredients with haute cuisine. The result is a witty bicultural dish like the foie gras "burger"--a slab of unctuous duck liver with caramelized onion and house-made "catsup" in a tiny bun--or blue crab with spicy guacamole and tomato coulis. Fist-sized shrimp with tempura-fried leeks and tangy pomegranate sauce is wildly and deservedly popular. Ditto for the ethereal passion fruit crepe souffle.
