| Attraction Guide : Welcome to the magnificent city of Anaheim, California just 20 miles east of Los Angeles. Whether you're visiting with family or friends you're sure to have a great time. Anaheim offers a little bit for everyone. Of course one of the biggest reasons why people visit Anaheim is to visit that big loveable mouse and his magic kingdom at Disneyland^(TM), but if you're in town for other reasons then you'll also find that there are lots of other great activities and entertaining things to do while you're here. Besides all of the obvious reasons that most people visit Anaheim, you'll be happy to know that Anaheim is just a few minutes from the California coastline, which means that you'll definitely want to take a day and spend it at one of California's famous beaches like Huntington Beach, Long Beach or Laguna Beach. or maybe you'd like to take a drive down to San Diego on the famous Pacific Coast Highway. Another great drive is up the Pacific Coast Highway to beautiful Santa Barbara. You'll find that sitting around will be the hardest thing to do while you're on vacation in Anaheim. Seaworld, the San Diego Zoo, Legoland, and the San Diego Wild Animal Park all offer a great day trip from Anaheim and are close enough that you will be able to spend a full day exploring these attractions and be back at the hotel for dinner. Harbor Blvd Anaheim Resort Area Celebrating all that is California, Disneys newest park pulls out all the stops, giving you a pure and adrenalin charged experience. The resort, among other things is home to the California Screamin roller coaster, a wood coaster much like the smaller versions in both San Diego and Santa Cruz. Then there is the Maliboomer, consisting of three 180-foot towers that launch you straight up at an astonishing speed, and you come back to earth as you left it, in a hurry! Or you can take a tour around a Hollywood back lot in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot, which is full of glitz, glamour and most of all fun. There is really something for everyone, so if you are coming to Anaheim you should really make time for this amazing park. Disneyland 1313 Harbor Blvd Anaheim Resort Area Disneyland offers children both young and old a magical and memorable experience, memories of which will last a lifetime. Disneyland has eight themed lands with classic Disney characters, attractions, live entertainment, and daily parades which make their way down Main Street USA and the rest of the park. Disneyland encompasses more than 85 acres with more than 60 major rides, 50 shops, and 30 restaurants. Fireworks and special shows are presented nightly during summer months and peak periods. In order to fully enjoy Disneyland try a multi day pass which allows you to experience everything your heart desires. Medieval Times. 7662 Beach Blvd. Buena Park Medieval Times, with its chivalry and showmanship, can be enjoyed here in Anaheim/Buena Park. Buena Park. 7850 Beach Blvd.Buena Park Just minutes from both Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm is one of the stranger and more interesting attractions in Buena Park. Getting There : Orange County's 786 square miles include 42 miles of prime beachfront and the vast Cleveland National Forest. More than 2.5 million people reside in the county's 31 cities and unincorporated areas. The largest cities are: Santa Ana (310,000), Anaheim (727,000), and Huntington Beach (180,000). The South Coast Metro area, Orange County's business, retail and cultural hub, spans 2,500 acres astride the Costa Mesa and Santa Ana city line. Ball, Katella and La Palma streets and Imperial Hwy. (90) run east to west through the cites of Orange, Anaheim, Garden Grove, Santon and Cypress. Beach Boulevard, Brookhurst Street, Magnolia Avenue and Harbor Boulevard travel, from the northern edge of Orange County to the ocean, while scenic Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) is a favored route for sightseers. Major airlines serve Orange County's population from John Wayne Airport, located near Newport Beach and just south of the San Diego Freeway (I-405). Anaheim Airport Information : John Wayne International 18601 Airport Way 949.252.5200 Located 35 miles south of metropolitan Los Angeles, John Wayne International Airport services the southland area and more specifically Orange County. The airport is located in the city of Santa Ana, bordered by Costa Mesa, Irvine and Anaheim. This airport is the lifeblood of the area, annually bringing in 7.80 million passengers (year 2000) and relieving pressure off Los Angeles and San Diego International airports. Ten commercial and one commuter airlines call the facility home, and with 250 daily arrivals to 22 non-stop US destinations makes this one busy facility. If you are looking for a way in or out of the Orange County area, then the John Wayne International Airport is your gateway to the world. Transportation : The Ground Transportation Center (GTC) houses all Ground Transportation Services including buses, taxis, shuttles and car rental return. The GTC is located in the center of the East Parking Structure directly across from the Thomas F. Riley Terminal. The Orange County Transportation Authority bus stop is on the Upper Level Roadway (Departure Level) between Terminals A and B. Parking : All parking lots are open from 4:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. daily. Terminal Parking is only accessible from the Departure (Upper) Level. Please be prepared to have your car searched. For faster service, you may consider using our Valet Parking. Long-term parking is available in all parking lots. Selected parking spaces in the Terminal lots A1 and B1 are reserved for two-hour-maximum parking. All parking lots accept cash, check or Visa/MasterCard and American Express credit cards. Los Angeles International Airport : 1 World Way 310.646.1893 Los Angeles International is the most diverse and comprehensive airport on the West Coast. You can connect to virtually any city in the world from LAX. Trucks, trailers, and campers should use perimeter lots because of restricted clearance in parking structures and limited open parking in the central terminal area. Curbspace in front of terminals is restricted to immediate loading and unloading of passengers and baggage for a maximum of three minutes. Unattended vehicles will be cited and may be impounded. As you near the airport by car, dial 530 on AM radio for information on parking and traffic conditions near the terminals. QuickAid Machines - Computer terminals throughout LAX provide airport and transportation information at your fingertips. These terminals, known as QuickAid machines, are operated by touching the symbol of the category on the screen that pertains to your interest. Transportation : Passengers departing LAX can use the Passenger Drop Off Only Location (9011 Airport Boulevard, just north of the intersection of Airport Boulevard and Arbor Vitae Street). No parking is permitted at this location. A free, frequent LAX shuttle transports passengers to the departure level, terminal curbside. The buses do not pickup passengers at the terminals to return to this lot. Parking : Due to heightened security measures private vehicles can enter the Central Terminal Area, but only to park in the parking structures. No curbside pickups or dropoffs of passengers from private vehicles are permitted. The metered parking stalls in the Central Terminal Area (CTA) parking structures are open to the public. Vehicles with disabled parking license plates or placards are able to park for free in any available metered space in the parking structures. No public parking is allowed in open-air metered parking lots. All travelers are urged to avoid driving to the airport or being driven to the airport in private vehicles. |
